Well, not much writing has gotten done the past couple days (although marketing and sales have been far more predominant!). This weekend has been the first annual Short Story America Conference and Festival held right here in our hometown of Beaufort, SC. We’ve been in the company of many authors of short stories and novels, with the opportunity to sell copies of our novel “MURDER IN TWOS AND THREES” alongside other authors. There’s nothing like authors new and veteran talking about the craft we all love so well: creative writing. Short stories read aloud for the audience last night was better than watching a movie, for it was the experience of a reader presenting a story solely by voice, much like in the early days of radio. A single voice created imagery in everyone’s minds, story after story and reader after reader… what an incredible experience!
There was also a short story competition, and we entered two stories to the contest. Unfortunately we didn’t win, but there’s always next year!
